A security guard has been charged in the magistrate’s court here with murdering a 16-year-old student.
D. Kalaiselvan, 46, allegedly killed Nur Rahayu Qomarodin at the Sungai Masai oil palm plantation in Jalan Masai-Kong Kong, Masai on June 18 this year between 2.30am and 2.50am.
No plea was taken from the accused when the charge was read to him before Magistrate Hafizah Johor Arif Johor who fixed Sept 20 for re-mention pending the chemist’s and post mortem reports.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhamad Iskandar Ahmad appeared for the prosecution, while counsel Khairul Azwad Sariman is holding a watching brief for the victim’s family.
The accused, who is unrepresented, faces the mandatory death sentence if found guilty, under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
