Prime Minister Najib Razak wants members of the Pertubuhan Seni Silat Lincah Malaysia (PSSLM) to be among the movers of the nation’s transformation process.

He said the practical training they received in silat lincah could be applied into their daily activities to help bring the country to a higher level of development.

“I want the silat lincah exponents not just to be brave in facing the enemies, but also to be courageous human capital who can change the spirit into a very strong one,” he said at the PSSLM gathering in conjunction with its 50th anniversary celebration at the Putra World Trade Centre, last night.

Also present were former prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, PSSLM patron Dr Koh Tsu Koon and Information Communication and Culture Minister Rais Yatim.

Najib said he was confident that PSSLM members would rise to defend the country against its enemies.

He said silat lincah members were also not taught to go against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the country and the government.

Instead, he said, they were always taught to have noble values and spirit so as to have a fine character.

“Our struggle is not to sow the seeds of hatred. I believe if there are enemies that want to attack this country, the silat lincah disciples would fight them,” he said.
