A new Non-Governmental Organization,ENGAGE held its official launch and fund-raising dinner on Oct 25 at Taman Molek, Johor Bahru with the theme, ‘Taking charge of our future’.
Thomas Fann, the chairman of ENGAGE gave the opening speech at the event. He said ENGAGE is an organization that is dedicated to strengthening democracy, defending human rights, upholding social justice and protecting the environment.
Co-chairperson of BERSIH 2.0 Ambiga Sreenevasan was the guest of honour at the official launch. Other NGO leaders who were present include Himpunan Hijau Chairperson Wong Tack, Empower Malaysia executive director Maria Chin Abdullah and political analyst Wong Chin Huat.
The event ended beautifully as all participants who attended the dinner took the initiative to light up their own candles.
