Petaling Jaya, 22 November 2013 – Only in Malaysia do we get to enjoy a “multi-festivity” season, starting with the year-end cheer bringing us the spirit of giving and kindness. At the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), joy and excitement for the festive season is in the air with the arrival of festive hampers for sale, bursting at the brim with delicious goodies!
Packed in customized basket sizes and dressed up with coloured baubles and oversized ribbons, the joyous looking packages are an initiative to raise funds whereby proceeds from sales of the hampers will be channeled towards underprivileged kidney patients supported by NKF.
Chief Executive Officer of NKF, Mr Chua Hong Wee shared his own excitement when the beautifully decorated hampers arrived at the NKF office: “The donations we will receive from the sales of these hampers will give hope to our patients with end-stage kidney failure. We are further inspired to continue providing quality dialysis care to underprivileged dialysis patients, and we are grateful to donors for their contribution,” he said. NKF currently cares for over 1,550 kidney failure patients in 28 dialysis centres nationwide.
