Social service programme to rebuild neighborhoods in Kedah

An educational social service programme is being planned for 2 July 2011 at Kampung Betong, jointly organised by Kedah State Youth Council (KSYC) and the Association of Youth Clubs Malaysia with the help of the National Anti Drug Agency.

KSYC education and career exco, Md Pedzil Md Isa, said this programme would involve the entire community, regardless of age, background or education.

One highlight of this programme will be a community effort to fix the roofs of houses in the village.  Among the activities planned are an exhibition, a “gotong-royong” cleaning the surrounding areas of the mosque, graveyards and village,  a colouring competition for kindergarten children and a a briefing on educational games software.

He said that it is hoped that such programmes will only strengthen the community spirit and build great unity.
