Seven tonnes of durian will now be making its way to Subang Parade on July 3 for the annual Jom Durian We Ate for Charity Fest.
Due to popular demand, the organisers of the event, Subang Parade and the Children’s Wish of Society have increased the quantity of durians from six to seven tonnes.
“This means more durians await those who purchase their tickets to join us on July 3.
“Tickets priced at RM20 per person for an hour with the King of Fruits are selling like hot cakes,” Children’s Wish Society of Malaysia vice president Teoh Teik Hoong said.
Four sessions are available to participate in this annual event, which is dubbed the biggest charity durian fest in the Klang Valley.
“Session Two which is from 2.45pm to 3.45pm is sold out. We now have tickets on sale for Session 1 (1.30pm-2.30pm); Session 3 (4-5pm) and Session 4 (5.15-6.15pm).
“People who wish to participate in this event and have fun as well should not wait until the last minute to purchase their tickets,” Teoh said.
According to him, every session will have its own supply of fresh durians and there was no need for the public to worry about having ample opportunity to enjoy their favourite fruit while doing their bit for charity.
The annual event is ideal for companies to treat their staff to a fun time or for families and friends to enjoy the creamy sweet and bitter taste of durians together.
On top of that, we will also have rambutans and mangosteens to go along with your durians, he said.
Funds raised from this event will be channeled to the Children’s Wish Society of Malaysia, a Subang Jaya based national charity which fulfills the wishes of children stricken with life-limiting or terminal illnesses across the country.
Tickets are now on sale at Subang Parade’s Guest Services Counter daily from 10am-10pm. For more information, please call 03-5032 9778.
