Johor’s Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) organized the cleaning of Pelepah River at Kota Tinggi in conjunction with the celebration of World Environment Day recently.

Johor’s Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) organized the cleaning of Pelepah River at Kota Tinggi in conjunction with the celebration of World Environment Day recently.

This event, which was supported by NGO’s such as the WACYCLES, Befrienders Society and the Breast Cancer Support Group were also joined by Forestry department and Majlis Perbandaran Kota Tinggi.

Around 50 adults and children jointly picked up garbage strewn by picnickers and trekkers. The cleaning program were halted half way because of rain, which also spoilt the groups plan to climb all the way to the top of the hill.

Participants were presented with souvenir from the MNS in the form of a pair of stainless steel fork, spoon and a pair of chopsticks to award their efforts. The group, later dispersed at 2 pm.
