A retired teacher and his wife lost more than RM43,000 in a robbery by four men armed with parang in their house in Taman Seluang, early this morning.
According to the victim, Mustaffa Yusuf, 62, in the incident at about 5am, four men in a car, broke into the house through the living room window.
He said both he and his wife, Hasnah Md Isa, 60, were sleeping in one of the rooms when the break-in occurred.
The couple was the only people in the house. “I heard some unusual sounds and suddenly I found four masked men dashing into our bedroom and threatened us with parang and knives at our throat and stomach,” he told reporters when met in the house today.
He said, the robbers made off with jewelleries, a Perodua Viva with plate number PHK 3653, two handphones and a digital camera.
Mustaffa said, one of the robbers removed all the jewelleries from his wife while threatening us to reveal our valuables in the house.
One robber also forced my wife to swear on the Al Quran that there were no more jewelleries in the house.
“The robber who was wearing a ski mask also threatened me that if I lied, Iwould be cursed by God,” he said while still in a trauma.
In the meantime, Kulim District Deputy Police Chief, DSP Chin Soo Song confirmed receiving the report on the robbery case and said the police were investigating.
He also urged members of the public with information on the robbery or the car to immediately contact Investigation Officer Inspector Hidayah Othman at 04-4906222 or any nearest police station.
