A rubber tapper from Kampung Sungai Rotan is appealing to the public for assistance in funding medical costs for his eight-year-old daughter Nur Farihan Abdul Rahman’s congenital heart condition.
Nur Farihan needs medication and follow-up treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) for the three-centimetre hole in her heart, which cannot be operated on at the moment.
Abdul Rahman Maan, 40, said his daughter needed RM400 for medication and transport cost to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar each month and sometimes up to RM700 if she had to be rushed to IJN when seriously ill.
He said his income as a rubber tapper was not fixed and his wife had to stay home to look after Nur Farihan and their four other children.
The family receives RM300 a month in aid from the Welfare Department.
They had also been unable to pay their electricity bill which resulted in supply being cut off, and now have to depend on candles for lighting.
All cash assistance may be channelled through Bank Simpanan Nasional(BSN) account under the name of Abdul Rahman Maan (02103-41-00001799-9) or bycontacting 012-4204392.
