A year go, V. Ganesan, 54, lost his eye sight due to diabetes. He is now living in the darkness; he cannot move around without the help of his wife.
Unable to work, he and his wife and their two adopted children live on the monthly allocation of RM600 they receive from Socso.
Ganesan said they have to be really thrifty as they do not have any other source of income. His two adopted children are still in school, they are presently studying in primary six.
He said help from any association for the disable (OKU) is most appreciated.
He wants to sign up for a skill training course but do not know how to go about it. The training will enhance his chances of getting employed.
He said he does not want to burden his wife and that if he has a skill he can earn a living.
