A1 Niaga in collaboration with Shell and other stake holders and  operators in the oil & gas industry will be joining hands in training a batch of trainees as qualified and certified riggers.

This project is a brain child of the CEO of A1 Niaga, Dr Mazlee and supported by the stakeholders. A first of its kind in East Malaysia this training was an initiative prompted by A1 Niaga to close the talent management gap in the oil & gas industry.

A total of forty four trainees, twenty two each from Sabah & Sarawak will be trained in this pilot project. All the trainees will have to undergo a three months intensive course in Miri. Trainees from Sabah will be given the opportunity to stay with a foster family for the duration of training.

Besides the basic rigger training programme and implementation of the Kaizen 5s strategy the trainees will also be undergoing the scuba diving, first aid and the ‘jati diri’ programme.

All the forty four riggers will be given the PTW training endorsed by Shell, the Green Card by CIDB, Certified Rigger certificate endorsed by DOSH and a conditional job offer letter with Dayang Enterprise.

On the next day after the graduation, the riggers will be part of a ‘gotong royong’ project at the ‘Rumah Panjang Jarek’ (Jarek Long House) about fifteen kilometers from Miri town.

A dinner was hosted by A1 Niaga and the Malaysian Oil & Gas Council Sarawak, with entertaining performances by the trainees.
