Honda Dreams Fund Participants
Honda, a name that is synonymous with the automobile industry has initiated a nationwide tertiary scholarship programme recently.
Some one hundred residents in the Kota Tinggi district will be given an opportunity to apply for a tertiary scholarship under the Honda Dreams Fund Programme.
The public relations and marketing officer for Honda, Jordhatt, said that the main objective of the Honda Dreams Fund programme is to facilitate aspiring students and the members of the community to achieve their dreams in life.
The programme is open to residents between the age of seventeen and twenty-four.
Participants are required to write an essay comprising five hundred words regarding how they can their realise their goals in life through their dreams.
Their subject ‘dream’ will form the basis for selection of successful participants.
A series of interview will be conducted and twenty participants will be shortlisted from various states in the country.
Amongst the pre-entry requirements is that participants must possess a Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia certificate and the family household income must not exceed RM1,500.
He added that this programme not only allows the successful participants to have their tertiary education but also helps in lightening the burden of their families.
Meanwhile, a counselling teacher from Sekolah Menengah (SM) Bandar, Ishak Kasim, 47, said that this is an excellent programme which offers great opportunity for students to advance themselves.
Students should grab this opportunity and set their goals in life, he said.
K. Kathiresan, 17, a student from Sekolah Menengah Saujana, who is participating in the programme said that this programme offers a new opportunity besides opening up opportunity for students to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals in life.
