Wanted: Driver in Ipoh hit-and-run

The police are looking for witnesses after a motorcyclist was apparently knocked down in a hit-and-run incident at Jalan
Jelapang here yesterday.

Motorcyclist M Mohan, 39, from Kampung Tersusun, Jelapang was found dead with injuries on the head and abdomen at 7pm, said Ipoh traffic police chief DSP Mohd Rodzi Rejab.

He said passers-by took the body of the victim to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here before contacting the police.

Mohd Rodzi said the motorist had yet to make a police report and urged eye-witnesses to contact the Ipoh District Police Headquarters at 05 2451500.
Meanwhile, motorcyclist Che Ross Abdul Jalil, 52, from Parit 23, Hutan Melintang was killed when he was said to have been knocked down by a four-wheel-drive vehicle at Km24.5 Jalan Bagan Datoh-Hutan Melintang yesterday.

Mohd Rodzi said the motorcyclist was said to have been hit from behind, causing him to be thrown into a ditch on the left side of the road.

The driver of the 4WD vehicle had lodged a police report, he added.
