Miri welcomes Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 finalists

MIRI – City of Miri in Sarawak is welcoming 23 finalists for the 2019 Miss Grand Malaysia pageant

The unveiling of 23 finalists for the Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 pageant clad in their BorneoNative outfits during the press presentation at Pustaka Miri on 22 April 2019.

The city of Miri in Sarawak is welcoming 23 finalists of the 2019 Miss Grand Malaysia pageant from 21 – 28 April 2019.

The contestants, aged 18 – 27, from all over the country will be vying for the coveted title of Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 at the grand final that will take place at Meritz Hotel, Miri on 28 April 2019.

The final coronation will see reigning Miss Grand International 2018 Clara Sosa from Paraguay and Miss Grand Malaysia 2018 Debra Jeanne Poh crowning the new Miss Grand Malaysia 2019.

The crown winner will represent Malaysia at the Miss Grand International pageant slated to be held in Venezuela in October 2019.

“We support the tourism initiative by Sarawak Tourism Board for year 2019 with ‘Sarawak More To Discover’ and Miri City Council as a prelude to Miri May Fest held annually,” said MGM national director Jude Benjamin Lisa during the official presentation of the 23 finalists with Miri major Adam Yii at Pustaka Miri on 22 April.

During their stay at Merdeka Suites Hotel Miri as the official residence, the finalists will be treated to a fun packed pageant week to promote Miri as a tourist destination.

Among the planned activities highlighting the attractions in Miri include visits to Niah National Park, Tusan Beach, Piasau Nature Reserve, Crocodile Farm Miri and Miri Times Square.

Other activities include a Meet and Greet session with Nur Sajat at Bintang Megamall and a Facebook live cooking show on Miss Grand International Facebook page by Clara and Debra who will demonstrate the making of local cuisine such as mee kolo and Sarawak laksa.

The Miss Grand Malaysia 2019 pageant is presented by Nur Sajat Aesthetics and offers cash and prizes worth RM200,000 to the Top 3 winners and subsidiary titles winners such as Miss Social Media, Best in Evening Gown, Best in Swimwear and Miss Popular Vote.

Main sponsors include Clarel’s Malaysia, NuFinity White and Borneo Medispa. The 23 finalists will be wearing various fashion wardrobes and apparels from sponsors Maatin Shakir, Indu Borneo, Bikini Malaysia and BorneoNative.

The grand final event will be emceed by Dan Ling and Shannen Totten and guests will be entertained by talents from Borneo Jazz Festival, the official festival partner.
