Malaysia’s first crypto art gallery launched

The Malaysia NFT Group has launched the country’s first-ever gallery of crypto art showcasing Malaysian talent in the global crypto art space.

The inaugural Crypto Art Week Malaysia 2021 (CAWA Malaysia) virtual art exhibition happening from 10 – 18 July, 2021 will feature digital works by 29 Malaysian crypto-artists ranging from established creators to emerging talents in the crypto art space.

Organised by the Malaysia NFT group and the art collective NFXT.io, the Crypto Art Week is testament to the burgeoning digital art world in Malaysia and represents Malaysian talent in this new global phenomenon taking the art world by storm, said a Malaysia NFT spokesperson.

The Crypto Art Week Malaysia 2021 runs in tandem with Crypto Art Week Asia (CAWA) which runs from 9 – 16 July, 2021.

Taking place at the Malaysia NFT gallery, the virtual space includes three main galleries.

Structured around three distinct themes, the 29 works on display have been curated to immerse the viewer into the diverse and exciting world of crypto art.

All the works on display will also be available for purchase at a range of prices throughout the week.

Overall, 150 Asian-based crypto artists will be showcased at the many virtual galleries.

The Malaysia NFT gallery also boasts an auditorium, gift shop, ‘lepak’ (hangout) areas as well as a “mamak” corner.

There will also be multiple interactive and educational events taking place throughout the week. These include panel discussions featuring influential Malaysian crypto artists and creators, ‘Meet the Artist’ talks, a virtual treasure hunt, giveaways and musical performances.
