Tropicana to achieve 100 percent vaccination goal

Tropicana aims to achieve a 100% vaccination goal to protect safety of workforce during pandemic.

Property developer Tropicana Corporation Berhad (Tropicana) aims to achieve a 100% vaccination goal by providing vaccinations for its workforce through the SelVax programme.

Jared Ethan Ang, group executive director of Tropicana said the company is committed to lead with care and has put the safety of its 1,300-strong workforces and its immediate communities as its highest priority.

“We are providing Covid-19 vaccinations across our Tropicana ecosystem to ensure Tropicana provides safe and conducive place for employees to live, work and prosper.

“Employees of the group who have not been vaccinated or did not secure an appointment through MySejahtera app will be signed up for this programme.

“With this vaccination in place, we are certain that our Tropicana community will once again be revitalised and safe for all,” he said.

Tropicana employees received their first Sinovac dose at Tropicana Gardens Mall Convention Centre.

The SelVax programme is a vaccination initiative by the Selangor state government to help accelerate the national immunisation programme and ensure all citizens receive their Covid-19 vaccine jabs.

“With this program, Tropicana is certain that it will be one of the first companies in Malaysia to achieve a 100% fully vaccinated workforce,” said Ang, adding that presently all its employees have at least received the first dose of vaccine and a big number of them have received both doses.

The Tropicana workforce is employed in Tropicana Hq, Tropicana Gardens Mall, Tropicana Golf & Clubhouse, W KL Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Hotel and Property Management.

Prior to the commencement of SelVax, a handful of Tropicana employees have participated in the Astra Zeneca Opt-In programme, thus requiring a longer interval between two doses.

Since the start of the pandemic, Tropicana has shown its strong support to various initiatives to combat the spread of Covid-19 and to achieve herd immunity as key to economic recovery.

The initiatives include, among others, offering Tropicana Gardens Mall Convention Centre as one of the five large vaccination centres to host SelVax; and donation of medical equipment, food and essential supplies as well as Tropicana care packs to employees and the community at large via its charity arm Tropicana Foundation.
