Various animal welfare organisations are outraged over the publication of a photograph of a puppy which was hanged, in the social website Twitter.
The Malaysian Animal Rights Society lodged a report at the Brickfields police headquarters today, urging the police to take action against two men who published the photograph, several days ago.
Society president N. Surendran said the duo should be charged under the Animals Act 1953 (2006 Amendment) for animal abuse. He was speaking to reporters after lodging the report.
Meanwhile, Malaysian Animal-Assisted Theraphy for the Disabled and Elderly Association president Anthony Siva Bala Thanasayan said the photograph saddened him as puppies helped disabled people live more positively.
