Audiolab and Lions Club donate hearing aids worth RM 49,400

Recipients of Audiolab Hearing Aid Donation must meet various requirements to be considered for complimentary hearing aids

An industry-leading hearing health care, Audiolab Hearing Care Centre together with Lions Club of Seremban Central and Swiss Medicare Sdn Bhd yesterday successfully handed over 14 of hearing aids worth RM 49,400.00 to qualify patients which is intended to educate and put hearing health on people’s annual healthcare agenda.

Based on the research, more than 40,000 adults and children in Malaysia have hearing loss as of December 2021 but despite this prevalence, the majority of those who suffer from hearing loss are either still living in denial or still struggling with costs to own hearing aids themselves.

“We saw there was a need for hearing aids,” says Anisah Binti Mohd Nor, Head of Sales and Marketing. Over half of the patients referred to us with ear complaints had hearing loss and could simply benefit from a hearing aid. After recognizing the need, Audiolab Hearing Care Centre looked to work with an organization that supports our ambition.

“At the beginning, this was an ambitious goal but today we are proud to have achieved it. We hope these hearing aids will help people to begin the journey in the new year to better hearing health’, she added. Deemed a success with room to grow, Anisah hopes to continue this momentum and help even more people across the country hear better.

Recipients of Audiolab Hearing Aid Donation (AHAD), are nominated by Audiolab Hearing Care Centre across Malaysia. They must meet various requirements to be considered for complimentary hearing aids, including clinical and financial needs.

Early detection is a crucial step to preserve hearing and get ahead of other potential, serious conditions, such as decreased balance, dementia, social isolation and depression.
