As the Year of the Dragon approaches in the Chinese New Year of 2024, Hennessy welcomes the festivities with a captivating limited-edition collection.
Inspired by the visionary digital art piece ‘Dragon’s Odyssey’ created by Chinese artist Yang Yongliang, the collection pays homage to the majestic dragon, a symbol of vitality and significance in the Chinese zodiac.
The Hennessy artistic fusion of tradition and digital
In collaboration with Yang Yongliang, known for blending traditional Chinese art with innovative digital technology, Hennessy introduces a collection that seamlessly connects the past to the future.
‘Dragon’s Odyssey’ features metallic dragons, dancing amidst waves, bringing life, movement, energy, and fire to the iconic symbol.
The digital art, born from Yongliang’s childhood fascination with dragons, combines traditional drawings with contemporary three-dimensional elements, adding texture and depth to the dragon’s skin and teeth.
Each bottle in the limited-edition collection is infused with significance, embodying the aspirations of the new year. The colours red and gold symbolise joy, luck, and prosperity, providing a vibrant representation of the festive season.

Yang Yongliang’s inspiration for Year of the Dragon
Yang Yongliang shares his inspiration for the collection, stating, “My inspiration for this collection comes from my special fondness for dragons – they’re so symbolic and legendary, and I grew up hearing stories about them.”
He recounts a childhood memory of receiving an antique coin with a dragon from his grandmother, which serves as a poignant influence on the metallic surface of the dragon in the Hennessy collaboration.
Yang Yongliang’s artistic journey reflects his unique approach to digital photography, capturing the essence of traditional Chinese art while embracing contemporary techniques.
The use of contemporary digital technology in ‘Dragon’s Odyssey’ adds a three-dimensional element, bringing the dragons to life and inspiring a deeper exploration of historical and cultural contexts.
Nausicca also expressesed her excitement about celebrating the Year of the Dragon with the limited-edition collection and looks forward to welcoming the Lunar New Year with the Hennessy community.
The limited-edition Year of the Dragon collection is now available in major supermarkets in Malaysia and online at The Good Stuff.
Enthusiasts are also invited to experience the exclusive unveiling of the collection and celebrate the onset of the new year at W Kuala Lumpur from January 18th for a four-week period.
