In a bid to enhance tourism engagement, industry players across the state are gearing up to offer exclusive packages and discounts to visitors every 24th day of the month in conjunction with Visit Melaka Year 2024 (VMY2024).

Melaka Hari Ini portal reported that the initiative, known as Package 24, aims to attract a higher influx of tourists to the historic state.

Datuk Lim Chow Beng, Chief Executive Officer of the VMY2024 Secretariat, announced the Package 24 initiative, revealing the participation of various tourism entities, including hotels, homestays, and private hospitals

The outlts have committed to providing enticing packages on the 24th day of each month in support of VMY2024.

Lim also mentioned that additional applications from restaurants and eateries are still being accepted, indicating a growing interest in joining the Package 24 programme.

Speaking at the Package 24 launch held at Hotel MITC, Lim highlighted the commitment of over 80 hotels in the state, which are poised to offer top-notch facilities and packages to bolster VMY2024.

Chow Beng went on to elaborate that Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh intends to contribute seven vehicles as lucky draw prizes during VMY2024.

Customers participating in the Package 24 programme, making purchases exceeding RM500 in a single receipt at any tourism location, stand a chance to enter the lucky draw. The draw will occur every three months throughout the coming year.

“We are still receiving applications and interest from various sectors within the tourism industry, reflecting a positive response to the Package 24 programme.

This initiative not only promotes tourism but also encourages local businesses to offer attractive deals, thereby contributing to the overall success of VMY2024,” Chow Beng added.
