In a bid to promote sustainable tourism practices and highlight the often-overlooked treasures of Perak, Chuan Sin Sdn Bhd (CSSB), a prominent bottled water manufacturer, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tourism Perak Management Berhad. The collaboration is set to play a pivotal role in the ‘Visit Perak Year 2024’ (VPY2024) campaign by Tourism Perak Malaysia.
Dr. Chuah Chaw Teo, the R&D Director of CSSB, expressed his excitement about the partnership with Tourism Malaysia Perak. “We are thrilled to join hands with Tourism Malaysia Perak to champion sustainable tourism practices in Perak. As part of this initiative, approximately 7 million cartons of exclusive Cactus 500ml and 1500ml water, adorned with labels showcasing 11 tourist destinations in Perak, will be distributed nationwide to revitalize Perak’s tourism industry.”
Perak’s hidden treasures
The 11 tourist destinations, carefully selected to represent the diverse cultural and natural beauty of Perak, include Kelly Castle, Gua Tempurung, Ipoh Railway Station, Palace in Kuala Kangsar, Menara Chon Dong Teluk Intan, Pulau Giam, Royal Belum State Park, Taiping Zoo, Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No. 5, River Explorer White Water Rafting in Gopeng, and Spritzer EcoPark.
The formalization of the partnership agreement took place between Tourism Perak’s Chief Executive Officer, Nurmalis Musa, and CSSB’s R&D Director, Dr. Chuah Chaw Teo. The ceremony was witnessed by the Chairman of the Tourism, Investment, Industry, and Corridor Development Committee of the Perak State, YB Loh Sze Yee, and the Head of PR, Winnie Chin.
YB Loh Sze Yee emphasized the strategic significance of the collaboration in effectively promoting Perak’s tourist destinations. “With unwavering support from Cactus natural mineral water, beloved by the people, we can showcase Perak’s tourist destinations throughout the country. From a tourism perspective, Tourism Perak is proud that Cactus Mineral Water will launch exclusive packaging featuring 11 iconic tourist attractions in the state,” he stated.
This sustainable tourism initiative aligns with the Visit Perak Year 2024, a comprehensive effort by the Perak state government to enhance tourism in the region. The campaign aims to attract both domestic and international tourists, offering them a unique opportunity to experience the diverse beauty and cultural richness that Perak has to offer. As the exclusive Cactus water packaging hits the shelves, it is expected to create heightened awareness and interest in Perak’s hidden gems among consumers nationwide.
