Melaka Water Theme Park shines with awards

The Melaka Water Theme Park in Ayer Keroh has achieved a historic milestone by securing two prestigious recognitions from ‘The Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR)’ through its innovative light festival.

The festival, which commenced on December 15, has propelled the water theme park into the categories of the First Lighting Event in a Water Theme Park and the Largest Lighting Event in a Water Theme Park, marking a momentous achievement in the country’s record books.

Water Theme Park’s Light Festival sets new standards

The Melaka Water Theme Park, located in Ayer Keroh, has etched its name in history by receiving dual accolades from ‘The Malaysia Book of Records’ for its remarkable light festival.

Recognised as the First Lighting Event in a Water Theme Park and the Largest Lighting Event in a Water Theme Park, this achievement sets a new standard for excellence in the country.

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh applauded this accomplishment, emphasising its positive impact on Melaka’s tourism industry.

“This success is a significant recognition for Melaka and can help boost the tourism industry by attracting more visitors during the Melaka Visit Year 2024 (TMM2024),” he stated.

The Chief Minister highlighted the theme park’s role in diversifying Melaka’s tourism offerings, positioning it as a key player in the Malaysian water theme park landscape.

Beyond Lights: Kayak, Mini Zoo & more await visitors

The award ceremony for ‘The Malaysia Book of Records‘ was held at the theme park, with notable attendees including the Director-General of Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Dr. Ammar Abd Ghapar; State Exco for Tourism, Heritage, Arts, and Culture, Datuk Wira Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman; and the Director of the Melaka Ministry of Tourism and Culture (MOTAC), Yeow Chin Chai.

During the ceremony, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh conveyed his appreciation for the theme park’s management, recognizing their commitment to supporting the State Government’s initiatives in attracting visitors during TMM2024.

He commended the management for introducing attractive offers, stating, “The theme park also offers great deals to visitors with discounts of up to 10 percent to enjoy the water theme park during the day, in addition to introducing new attractions such as kayaking, a mini zoo, and much more.”

The Melaka Water Theme Park’s triumph in securing recognitions from ‘The Malaysia Book of Records’ reflects not only its commitment to innovation but also its contribution to Melaka’s tourism landscape.

As the Chief Minister lauded the theme park’s success and applauded its diverse offerings, the stage is set for an exciting journey ahead.

With accolades and new attractions, including kayaking and a mini zoo, the theme park aims to attract visitors from around the world during the Melaka Visit Year 2024, further establishing its position as a premier destination in the heart of Malaysia.
