On the first day of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), Tourism Malaysia inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates, signifying a significant move towards enhancing tourism between Malaysia and the UAE.

The agreement highlights Emirates’ dedication to enticing more travellers across its extensive network of over 140 destinations to explore the diverse sights, culture, and attractions of each destination.

Tourism Malaysia’s participation in the 30th edition of ATM 2024 aims to showcase the country’s latest attractions and destinations, targeting an increase in tourists from West Asia.

The four-day event, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 6 to 9 May 2024, marks Malaysia’s 31st year of participation, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to this growing market.

Emirates and Tourism Malaysia will collaborate to promote tourism and bolster visitor traffic into Malaysia from the airline’s global network.

Orhan Abbas, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations, Far East at Emirates, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We’re excited to collaborate with Tourism Malaysia to help drive more traffic growth into the market by leveraging our extensive global network.”

The MoU, signed by Orhan Abbas and Datuk (Dr.) Yasmin Mahmood, Chairman of Tourism Malaysia, in the presence of Nabil Sultan, Emirates Executive Vice President, Passenger Sales & Country Management, outlines joint advertising and tactical campaigns.

Additionally, Emirates will facilitate familiarisation trips from key markets in the Gulf and the Middle East to Malaysia to generate awareness and demand.

Orhan Abbas highlighted Emirates’ longstanding commitment to Malaysia, stating, “For over three decades, we’ve been serving Malaysia with world-class service and industry-leading products.

” He expressed the airline’s dedication to leveraging its global network to promote Malaysia’s rich attractions, landmarks, and cultural heritage.

Apart from Tourism Malaysia, Emirates also signed MoUs with Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce on the first day of ATM, demonstrating its ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships and promote tourism across various regions.
