Penang Hill Festival set to return for fifth edition in July

The Penang Hill Festival (PHF) is back for its fifth edition, happening from July 19 to 21, 2024. This year’s festival promises a vibrant celebration of music, nature, and heritage on Penang Hill.

A highlight of PHF2024 is the inaugural Penang Hill Songwriting Competition.

Open to Malaysians aged 15 and above, the competition seeks entries that capture the essence of Penang Hill with the theme “Penang Hill – A Treasured Gem.”

The winning song will be crowned the official theme song of Penang Hill.

Talks, exhibitions, and nature activities

Beyond the competition, PHF2024 offers a diverse program. Talks will delve into topics like the history of Penang Hill and conservation efforts.

Exhibits showcase the Penang Hill Biosphere Reserve and Penang Hill’s rich history through photos. Nature enthusiasts can participate in guided walks, explore trails, or embark on a night exploration.

The festival caters to families as well. The Junior Rainforest Exploration program sparks a love for nature in children.

Photography workshops led by Canon Malaysia offer valuable skills for capturing Penang Hill’s beauty.

Penang Hill call for volunteers

PHF2024 teams up with MinitAgo for a digital treasure hunt, allowing visitors to discover the hill’s hidden gems in a fun and educational way.

The festival also welcomes volunteers to join the team.
