Dino Desert: Malaysia’s largest dinosaur theme park now open

Monkeys Canopy Resort’s Dino Desert in Sungai Long, Kajang, spans 11 acres and features 144 animatronic dinosaurs for an immersive prehistoric experience.

Monkeys Canopy Resort has officially opened the gates to its brand new dinosaur park, making it the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia. Spanning approximately 11 acres, this state-of-the-art theme park welcomed its first visitors last Saturday, May 25.

The park boasts an impressive collection of 144 animatronic dinosaur species, ranging from the fearsome T-Rex to the towering Mamenchisaurus and the serene Triceratops. These life-sized models are designed to move and emit sounds, providing an immersive experience that transports guests back millions of years to a prehistoric world. Visitors can wander through the desert landscape and encounter these iconic creatures as they roam and interact within their natural habitats.

For fans of the Jurassic Park movie franchise, the park offers an enticing opportunity to step into a real-life dinosaur adventure. The animatronic dinosaurs, with their lifelike movements and sounds, add a thrilling dimension to the experience. Informative plaques accompany each dinosaur display, offering fascinating facts and insights about these ancient giants, making the visit both educational and entertaining.

Nighttime Aurora Experience at Dino Desert

Given the open-air design of the park, with minimal shade available, visitors are advised to wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing for comfort. Staying hydrated is essential, and bringing along sunglasses, an umbrella, and sunscreen can help minimize the risk of sunburn. For those interested in a nighttime adventure, the park offers the Aurora Night at Dino Desert, where guests can enjoy the park’s attractions under a breathtaking, aurora-like atmosphere.

Admission fees for the dinosaur park are set at RM55 for adults, and RM45 for OKU (Orang Kurang Upaya), senior citizens aged 60 and above, and children between three and 12 years old. Tickets and additional information are available on the park’s website, as well as through their Instagram and WhatsApp channels.
