Since 2007, the company has collaborated with the Global Environment Centre (GEC), local communities, and government agencies to enhance water management in Malaysia.

Through these efforts, Heineken has committed RM15 million, impacting over 30,000 Malaysians.

“We’ve gone beyond our brewery’s operations to support watershed protection,” said Renuka Indrarajah, Corporate Affairs & Legal Director.

“Our target is to balance 1.5 litres of water for every litre used in production, and since 2020, we’ve exceeded that target.”

Key projects include restoring the Sungai Way River, building clay dykes in the Raja Musa Forest Reserve to prevent peatland fires, and introducing rainwater harvesting systems in the Klang Valley.

In 2017, HEINEKEN Malaysia achieved zero production waste to landfill through comprehensive recycling efforts.
