Sunway Medical Centre (SMC), kicked off its 25th anniversary celebrations with the annual SunMed Health Carnival on 8 September, drawing a large crowd to the iconic Tower D Lobby.
The event showcased a variety of family-friendly, health-focused activities, aimed at engaging the community while raising awareness about healthcare and wellness.
Dr Seow Vei Ken, Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Medical Centre, emphasised the carnival’s role in the hospital’s ongoing mission to deliver inclusive healthcare.
“The Carnival is more than just a symbol of our ongoing commitment to healthcare excellence. It serves as a fun and engaging space to bring everyone together and celebrate health and well-being,” said Dr Seow.
He further highlighted the importance of fostering a sense of community and promoting healthier lifestyles through informed decisions.
Hands-on health education and fun for all
The SunMed Health Carnival blended entertainment with education through various interactive games that tested memory, hand-eye coordination, and endurance.
Participants enjoyed these engaging activities, which provided not only entertainment but also valuable insights into personal health.
The event also featured a hands-on Batik Arts and Crafts Workshop, allowing attendees to explore Malaysia’s cultural heritage while creating their own painted masterpieces.
In addition to the games and workshops, the carnival offered multiple health screening booths. Visitors could assess their vision, speech, hearing, body composition, kidney health, and more.
This initiative provided valuable health services to the community, further cementing SMC’s commitment to enhancing public health.
Sunway Medical Centre collaborates with key partners
The success of the SunMed Health Carnival was bolstered by the support of several brand partners, including Gintell, Duopharma, RHB Bank, Hurix’s, Jura, and others.
Dr Seow expressed gratitude for their contributions, which enhanced the event with complimentary health screenings, exclusive gifts, and premium lucky draw prizes.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners for their generous support, which enriched the experience for all attendees.
We look forward to organising more community outreach programmes as part of our efforts to elevate healthcare in the region,” Dr Seow added.
