Jelajah Saya Digital empowers Malaysians for the future

Jelajah Saya Digital aims to equip citizens with the digital skills necessary to face rising living costs and excel in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0).

The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) launched the Jelajah Saya Digital (JSD) program at The Shore Shopping Gallery, Melaka.

The two-day event, from October 12 to 13, is expected to attract 2,000 visitors.

As part of MDEC’s efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s digital economy, Jelajah Saya Digital aims to equip citizens with the digital skills necessary to face rising living costs and excel in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0).

Expanding digital literacy across communities

Jelajah Saya Digital is an extension of the Saya Digital campaign introduced in 2020.

It aligns with the Ministry of Digital’s goals of fostering a Digital Government, Digital Economy, and Digital Society.

Through these pillars, the program works to enhance the digital skills of diverse groups, including the B40 community, unemployed graduates, senior citizens, and people with disabilities (PWDs).

It also supports school and university students, along with micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), helping them thrive in an increasingly digital landscape.

The program has successfully reached over 51,000 participants since its launch and aims to engage 40,000 more across 31 locations this year. So far, 34,572 participants have registered for the program in 2024.

Supporting businesses and digital careers

MDEC’s eUsahawan and MyDigitalMaker programs are integral components of JSD.

The eUsahawan initiative, which promotes digital entrepreneurship, has benefited over 560,000 participants nationwide, generating more than RM1.26 billion in sales.

In Melaka alone, nearly 28,000 entrepreneurs have collectively earned over RM38 million.

Meanwhile, the MyDigitalMaker program has helped over 2.5 million school students nationwide explore digital skills, with thousands participating directly in Melaka.

At the Melaka event, attendees received practical guidance on rapid digital marketing and content creation, particularly through platforms like TikTok.

The event featured popular influencer Rhys – Mat Salleh Cari Makan, along with a live broadcast of the Melaka Chief Minister’s Esports Cup, which drew more than 300 participants.

As JSD continues to roll out across Malaysia, it remains a cornerstone of MDEC’s mission to create a digitally empowered society.

With the backing of strategic partners like EPF, PERKESO, and TM-Unifi, the program ensures Malaysians are well-prepared to navigate and succeed in the evolving digital economy.

Whether you’re an aspiring entrepreneur or simply looking to upskill, Jelajah Saya Digital offers opportunities that pave the way for a brighter, tech-savvy future.
