Massive turnout for MOP KLIA’s first Immortal Legends Tournament

Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang’s ‘Immortal Legends’ esports tournament drew over a thousand fans as teams battled in Mobile Legends and PUBG for RM10,000.

Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang (MOP KLIA), in collaboration with Malaysia’s top esports super app, Kohai, hosted its inaugural ‘Immortal Legends’ Tournament over the weekend of October 12-13, 2024, drawing over a thousand gamers and esports fans. The event was a high-energy spectacle with participants competing in two of Southeast Asia’s most celebrated mobile gaming titles, Mobile Legends Bang Bang and PUBG Mobile.

Team Rocket

The tournament featured 64 teams that battled across three weeks for a spot in the semi-final and final rounds at MOP KLIA, vying for a share of the RM10,000 prize pool. Team Rocket claimed the Mobile Legends Bang Bang championship, while team TODAK emerged victorious in PUBG Mobile. TJ Cheah, Deputy Managing Director of MFMA Development Sdn. Bhd., expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration with Kohai, stating, “This event has provided a platform for young, emerging talents to showcase their skills and create an engaging atmosphere for all visitors.”

Throughout the two-day finale, the atmosphere was charged with excitement as teams displayed strategic prowess in head-to-head battles, cheered on by a passionate audience gathered around large screens. Interactive stations allowed casual visitors to engage with the latest game features, including new heroes, skins, and maps for Mobile Legends and PUBG Mobile.

Visitors could also participate in Funmatch events, where they played alongside notable esports figures like Gojes from Selangor Red Giants, with opportunities for special giveaways. The event also provided fans with a chance to meet professional esports players from teams such as HomeBois and Selangor Red Giants, capturing photos and participating in Kohai Sembang LIVE sessions with popular personalities like Daddyhood and Boss Simon.

Adding to the grandeur of the event, the Mobile Legends: SouthEast Asia Cup (MSC) Trophy was displayed for the first time in Malaysia, drawing fans eager for photos with the trophy.
