The Penang Go Digital Carnival, held in collaboration with Digital Penang, concluded successfully, attracting over 1,000 visitors and reaffirming Penang’s dedication to digital transformation.

With over 40 exhibitors, 10 interactive workshops, and various tech-focused sessions, the event underscored the state’s vision to position Penang as a leading digital hub.

Attendees gained valuable insights from industry experts, government representatives, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), experiencing cutting-edge digital tools through virtual reality (VR) exhibits and engaging in competitive e-sports.

According to Digital Penang CEO Ng Kwang Ming, the Penang Go Digital Carnival aimed to provide a collaborative platform fostering innovation and knowledge-sharing.

“Digital transformation is essential for economic progress and community well-being,” Ng said.

“By embracing new technologies, businesses can enhance competitiveness and efficiency in today’s global economy.”

Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow praised the efforts of Digital Penang, government leaders, and event sponsors for advancing digital literacy and entrepreneurship across Penang.

“This carnival reflects the vibrant and progressive digital community here, a crucial foundation for building a competitive, advanced, and sustainable society,” Chow said, highlighting that initiatives from Digital Penang have helped SMEs increase revenues by up to 30%.

While recognising significant strides in digital adoption, Chow emphasised the importance of bridging existing digital divides within the community.

“With more initiatives like the Penang Go Digital Carnival, I hope to see more Penangites embracing digital opportunities that are accessible and beneficial,” he said.

The carnival ended with Chow expressing gratitude to event partners, sponsors, and the organising team, acknowledging their commitment to Penang’s digital future.
