Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City (SMC), will host its highly anticipated health and wellness event — Life Moves Festival 2025 — on Sunday, 3 August 2025, at the hospital’s Tower D Lobby from 10am to 4pm. Open to the public, the one-day festival encourages individuals and families to rediscover the importance of preventive healthcare through a vibrant mix of interactive exhibits, complimentary screenings, and family-friendly activities.
Centred around the theme “Every Move Matters, Every Step Counts Against NCDs”, the event aims to raise awareness about non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, cancer, and heart disease — key contributors to premature death and chronic illness in Malaysia.
The festival also reinforces SMC’s ongoing commitment to public health education and early detection. It is designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to understand their health status and take preventive action before more serious conditions develop.
Health checks, heart exhibit and interactive learning
Among the festival highlights is the “Jantungku” Walkthrough Heart Exhibit, an immersive installation offering a close-up look at the human heart, helping attendees better understand the impact of lifestyle on cardiovascular health.
Visitors can also take advantage of free health screenings, including blood glucose tests, body composition analysis, and urine tests. These tests aim to provide participants with greater insight into their current health and encourage timely medical follow-up where needed.
Throughout the day, guests can engage in flash quiz challenges, educational games, and explore the Health Marketplace, featuring wellness brands, health-centric products, and nutritious food options.
A national commitment to better health
The Life Moves Festival is part of SMC’s broader mission to support national public health goals and foster long-term behavioural change. By promoting continuous education and fostering a community-focused approach to wellness, the hospital aims to create lasting impact beyond the event day, inspiring healthier lifestyles across all age groups.
As Malaysia’s largest private quaternary hospital, SMC holds all three major hospital-wide accreditations: Joint Commission International (JCI), Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS), and the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH). It was also named Malaysia’s top hospital and ranked among the world’s top 250 in Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals for both 2024 and 2025, while clinching Hospital of the Year (Malaysia) at the Healthcare Asia Awards for four consecutive years.
Currently offering over 60 medical specialties across 28 Centres of Excellence, SMC houses 810 licensed beds and is set to expand to over 1,100 beds with the upcoming completion of Tower F — its dedicated Children’s Pavilion.
