Malaysian flavors took the spotlight today as SHANTEA Dessert celebrated the grand opening of its first outlet at Mid Valley Megamall, unveiling a contemporary approach to classic local ingredients. The debut marks a fresh chapter for Malaysia’s dessert scene, fusing heritage-rich tastes with modern aesthetics and wellness trends.

The launch also arrives at a strategic moment as the nation gears up for Visit Malaysia 2026, with culinary tourism expected to play a pivotal role in attracting both regional and international visitors. By reinventing traditional ingredients through modern craftsmanship, SHANTEA Dessert hopes to serve as a delicious ambassador for Malaysian culture.

“Malaysia’s culinary heritage is one of our greatest treasures, and initiatives like SHANTEA Dessert help showcase it to the world in new and exciting ways,” said Teresa Kok, Member of Parliament for Seputeh, who officiated the event. “With Visit Malaysia 2026 just around the corner, this concept plays an important role in introducing our rich flavors to tourists who may be discovering them for the first time.”
