Reigate Grammar School opens new purpose-built Kajang 2 campus

Reigate Grammar School opens its purpose-built Kajang 2 campus, bringing over 350 years of British educational excellence to Malaysia.

Reigate Grammar School Kuala Lumpur (RGSKL) has officially opened its purpose-built campus in Kajang 2, bringing a long tradition of British educational excellence to Malaysia through its partnership with the Beaconhouse Group. Founded in 1675, Reigate Grammar School in the United Kingdom is one of England’s most respected independent schools, well known for its strong academics, outstanding pastoral care and focus on developing the whole child.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior representatives from the Ministry of Education, including the Deputy Director of Private Education, Dr. Sarifah Norazah. Also in attendance were Richard Colley, Country Director, Department of Business and Trade, British High Commission, and Hamza Naveed, Community Welfare Attaché, Pakistan High Commission. The event was joined by Kasim Kasuri, CEO of Beaconhouse, Nassir Kasuri, Executive Director of Beaconhouse, senior Beaconhouse staff, and representatives from Reigate Grammar School, including Shaun Fenton, Executive Headmaster of the Reigate Grammar School Group, Sean Davey, Global Business Director, and colleagues from RGS campuses across the region.

We want to build a warm and inclusive community where every student feels supported, inspired and confident to do their best,” said Philip Bailey, Principal of Reigate Grammar School Kuala Lumpur.

Guided by core school values

RGSKL delivers a distinctive British education shaped by the school’s core values of curiosity, resilience, ethics, respect and creativity. These values guide learning across all year groups, from Early Years through to A Levels. RGSKL was officially launched

The school offers a vibrant environment where students can explore their interests through a diverse range of sports, music, drama, and creative arts. Regular trips and experiential learning activities complement classroom teaching, encouraging curiosity, teamwork and confidence.

The Kajang 2 campus has been designed for modern, holistic learning and includes eight science laboratories, a two-floor library, a full-sized astro turf, swimming pool, indoor multi-purpose hall, outdoor courts, tennis courts and two climbing walls. A state-of-the-art boarding facility for 250 students will open in August 2027. Supervised accommodation nearby is available until the boarding house is completed, and the school also provides a convenient bus service.

A diverse and global community

RGSKL currently educates more than 400 students from 28 nationalities, with the capacity for 1,250 students in total. This diverse community reflects Malaysia’s global outlook and creates a welcoming and international school environment.
