Book bomb in East Jakarta

Book bomb in East Jakarta

In March 2011,  a suspicious package arrived at a community centre in East  Jakarta.

It was addressed to  a prominent leader of the Liberal Islamic Network who has his office here.

Inside the package was a letter and a book entitled: “They must be killed for their sins against Islam.”

It was clear this was no ordinary book – and fearing the worst – they called the police.

Once again, religious intolerance and extremism became a threat in the world’s most populous Muslim country;  Indonesia.
