Malaysia’s first citizen journalists conference

The 1st Citizen Journalist Conference 2010 was held on May 1-2, at the Annexe Central Market, Kuala Lumpur.

It was a great success!

Citizen journalists trained by Malaysiakini from all over Malaysia, Penang, Perak, Kuala Lumpur, Johore, Sabah and Sawarak all converged to the conference probably the first such conference in the whole of South East Asia.

During the two days, CJ get to hear firsthand experiences in  journalism from renowned journalists such as our own local Charles Mohan, NTV7 and Veronica Pedosa from Alzazeera.  At the end of the conference, there was a CJ forum where all CJs actively participated.

Next year the CJ conference promises to be bigger and more exciting!
