Lim Guan Eng said it is unethical to increase the Penang bridge toll. This move only benefits one company but will cause financial burden to 1.5 million Penangites.
He said the company has already gained extra-ordinary profits as it has collected RM1.7bil up to 2006. The cost of its construction and maintenance was only RM968 mil. This means there is over RM700 million in profits accumulated over this years.
Therefore, he urged the federal government to reconsider and reject any toll increase.
