Miss Indonesia crowned as the first Miss Scuba International

Dayu Prastini Hatmani of Indonesia was crowned as the first Miss Scuba International

Dayu Prastini Hatmani of Indonesia was crowned as the first Miss Scuba International after beating 13 other contestant in Kota Kinabalu recently.

The 24 year old beauty also won Miss Personality and Miss Marine Conservation supplementary titles.

The first runner-up was Nendy Yunizar of Indonesia, 20, who also won the Miss Popularity title while second runner-up went to 20 year old Jia Jie Lee of Malaysia, also the winner of Miss Photogenic title.

Robert Lo, MSI Chairman and co-founder announced in an earlier media conference that the MSI pageant would be held in from city to city but the dive training and certification will always be held in Sabah.

“This was to support the efforts to boost the local dive tourism in Sabah. The crowned winner would become an ambassador to oceans around the world besides promoting marine conservation,” said Robert.

The international event was officiated by Datuk Masidi Manjun, State Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment with attendance of several international stars such as Miss Hong Kong 1989 Chan Fat-Yung among others.

The next MSI pageant will be held in Shenzen,  China in November 2012.
