Single mother Puziah Ramli is appealing for funds to send her son Muhammad Hidayat Mohd Salleh, 11, for further examination at the National Heart Institute (IJN), tomorrow.
Puziah, 42, said Muhammad Hidayat, a student at the Special Education School in Alor Mengkudu, here, was diagnosed as having a hole-in-heart problem since he was five by doctors at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital.
“I don’t have a permanent job. I only get RM200 from the Welfare Department to support my three children since my husband, an oddjob worker, died five years ago,” she said at her house in Kampung Kubang Bongor, Mukim Kubang Rotan, here.
Puziah said she did various jobs to support her children, including Nurul Nabilah Huda, 20, who is studying at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu and Muhammad Iskandar Zukarnian, 14, who is not schooling.
Those keen to contribute can do so via Puziah’s CIMB account No. 0205-0127987-52-5. They can also contact her brother-in-law Asri at 012-5632845.
Meanwhile, Kuala Kedah Umno division vice-chief Datuk Abdul Mutholib Harun visited the family today and handed over foodstuff and money.
He said he would help Puziah get some money to send Muhammad Hidayat to IJN.
Also present were Kuala Kedah parliamentary constituency Penyayang Squad officer Bakar Mat and a Kota Setar Welfare Department representative.
