It was a memorable and exciting day for the folks at Mambang Diawan, Kampar as thousands of villagers both young and old from the settlement area gathered in front of SJK (C) Mambang Diawan in the early morning to meet the Prime Minister.

The villagers had been patiently waiting for the arrival of the nation’s Prime Minister since early morning.

According to a villager, this was the first time the prime minister has visited the town and it is exciting and hopefully will turn into a lively event.

Another villager who wished to be known as Tan 35, he stated that the premier visit will open the eyes of outsiders to the existence of Mambang Diawan people had no idea about its whereabouts.

“It will be a historically significant day for us as the villagers in Mambang Diawan”said Tan.

Besides that, he also hoped that the village will change for the better after Najib’s visit.

Teoh Kai Keng 45, who had witnessed the ups and downs of the village over the years said “previously not many politicians paid any attention to the village let alone visit the place as this is only a small town”.

“Hopefully after this, the facilities and infrastructure of the village will be better equipped ” Teoh told Komunitikini.

Teoh also added that he has always supported the premier 1 Malaysia slogan as he feels the slogan symbolizes the unity of the nation.

When Komunitikini reached the scene, the was a massive number of people and students of primary school standing and waving the Jalur Gemilang to welcome the premier.

The Prime Minister had been scheduled to launched the opening ceremony of 1 Malaysia Carnival at Tanjung Tualang after the visit to Mambang Diawan.

When asked about the feelings of the villagers waiting for the premier, Lan mentioned that she had started to wait since 8 am early morning.

“This is an opportunity of the lifetime for me to see Prime Minister Najib’s face as it will be rare in future to do so” said Lan when interviewed by Komunitikini.

Another secondary school student who wants to be known as Yeoh 16, who studies near the village had claims that the village has long overdue community problems.

“Problems such as a bad drainage system, and public facilities has long been a horror for the folks here”.

“Hopefully with the visit, the premier able to witness and helps the villagers to improve the facilities at the town” stated Yeoh.

Meanwhile, after a long awaited and exciting scene, finally Prime Minister Najib Razak had arrived accompanied by his wife Rosmah Mansor, Mentri Besar Perak Zambry Abdul Kadir, Perak MCA Liaison Committee Chairman Dr Chua Soi Lek, Kampar MP Lee Chee Leong and other dignitaries from the state secretariat at around 11.30 am.

Once the premier stepped out of the bus, the chants of the 1 Malaysia slogan could be heard around the area as the crowd was jubilant and cheering for premier continuously.

After that, the prime minister and his wife was escorted into the hall of SJK (C) Mambang Diawan together with the state dignitaries.
