Berjaya Times Square Theme Park has unveiled a revamped go-kart attraction designed to bring the excitement of combat-style arcade racing into the physical world, introducing a gaming-inspired experience in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
Located at Basement 3 of Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur, the revamped facility has been transformed into a neon-lit cyber circuit featuring next-generation electric karts, interactive projection technology and two distinct racing modes.
The attraction, known as Kart Wars, officially opened to the public on Thursday, August 6, 2026, offering visitors a choice between conventional electric racing and an interactive combat-style experience.

Two racing modes offer different experiences
The first mode, The Apex Predator, is aimed at drivers seeking a traditional high-speed racing experience without digital gameplay elements.
Using the venue’s electric karts, drivers can reach speeds of up to 35km/h while navigating a technical indoor circuit that tests steering, braking and drifting skills.
The second mode, Kart Wars, introduces an interactive element by combining physical racing with projection mapping and augmented tracking technology.
Digital power-ups, including virtual bombs, shields and speed boosts, are projected onto the track. Drivers can steer over the projected items to activate them, while a Turbo Boost can trigger acceleration.
Opponents can also deploy virtual bombs against other racers. When hit, the affected kart is automatically slowed for a short penalty period, adding a competitive element to the race without compromising physical safety.
Tan Tee Ming, chief executive officer of Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur, said the attraction was designed to offer more than a conventional recreational activity.
“We wanted to create something that wasn’t just a regular activity, but a core memory for everyone who walks through our doors,” he said.
“By introducing the Kart Wars concept to our Go-Kart BTSKL, we are bridging the gap between digital gaming and physical reality. It’s chaotic, it’s competitive, and most importantly, it’s accessible to families, friends, and corporate teams looking for a totally unique thrill in the heart of KL.”

Electric fleet and promotional opening tickets
The revamped attraction uses a fleet of fully electric karts, which provide instant acceleration without exhaust emissions, supporting a cleaner indoor environment.
Each kart is also equipped with a digital dashboard displaying live race information, including the driver’s position, lap times and currently activated power-ups.
For its opening month, visitors can experience both racing modes back-to-back at a promotional rate of RM50 for a 10-minute experience.
Drivers must be at least 130cm tall and wear closed-toe shoes to participate. The attraction is also offering group and corporate packages.
Visitors can check operating hours, make bookings and obtain further information through the Berjaya Times Square Theme Park website or the GoKart BTSKL social media channels.
