A fest for human rights expression

JOHOR BHARU – At the recent Freedom Film Fest 2012 in Johor Bahru organized by KOMAS, a total of 5 films were shown, 3 were award winning films. [VIDEO]

At the recent Freedom Film Fest 2012 in Johor Bahru organised by KOMAS (Pusat Komunikasi Masyarakat), a total of 5 films were screened; 3 were award winning films and 2 were films under the category ‘People’s Uprising’.

Winners of the FreedomFilmFest proposal competition 2012 under the theme Democracy: Who’s the Boss? are:-

  • Rights of the Dead (Director Tricia Yeoh)
  • M-C-M: Utopia Milik Siapa? (Director Boon Kia Meng)
  • the Silent Riot (Director Nadira Ilana)

Two other films shown were E06: People Power vs The State (Director Soh Sook Hwa) and Half Revolution (Director Omar Sharqawi & Karim El Hakim).
