Members of the public who witnessed the incident helped to calm both the victim and the baby while waiting for the ambulance.

Sungai Petani – A couple and their baby girl escaped with injuries after a Proton Wira collided into their motorcycle at a junction, next to the Petronas Petrol Station here in Taman Ria recently.

An eye-witness, Jagan Govindasamy, 28, said he rushed to to the scene when the loud sound of the crashed caused alarm.  He said, after arriving at the scene, he found a couple with a baby girl thrown on the shoulder of the road after being hit by a car.

He said that after the collision the baby girl was still in her mother’s arms, but suffered minor cuts to her head.  

Preliminary observations showed that the motorcyclists was seriously injured in the head and had broken his leg while his wife and child, was injured in the leg.

The couple in the car did not suffer any injuries.  

The injured couple and baby were brought to Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim by ambulance.
