In an exclusive interview with CJMY, talented child star Kathy speaks to us more on her performance and her love for modeling.

Your dance performance was amazing, when did you start dancing?

Kathy: My first dance performance when I was 5 years old in talent showcase at the children pageant Little Miss Malaysia 2017, which I won the title Tiny Princess Malaysia. At that time it was just a private class in 2 hours and straight to perform on stage. I started dance class in 2021 with personal coach Yuki Dance for about 6 months and then invited junior dancer Reymi Tham Ka Hoong (14 years old) to join me as a part of my project just lately 2 months at studio 1119 Entertainment. Our performance at Malaysia Top 100 Talent Award 2021 is my second time on stage as a dancer.

What kind of dance do you like and do you enjoy on stage?

Kathy: I like K-Pop dance, also learn Hip Hop depending on songs, and get extra skills with Latin dance. I enjoy performing on stage with friends. Reymi Tham Ka Hoong is a popular talent idol winning multi-awards and multi-champions, known as MFMPA Teen Male Model of the year 2020 and one of awardees Malaysia Top 100 Talent 2021 just to name a few, he learnt dance 3 years and experienced several stage performances. We learned to dance together in about 8 classes (8 hours) to prepare for Top 100 Talent performance.

Being a top model and dancer, which role do you prefer more?

Kathy: I still enjoy modeling, meanwhile dance helps me to perform singing in my future projects. It’s my honor and pleasure to perform in such a prestigious event and healthy platform for young talents organized by MMK, founder Mr. Jason Hee Jee Pin and Ms. Nycole Fe Lynne, witnessed and endorsed by Malaysia Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture.
