Puchong serial cat burglar spotted

Selangor Community Policing (SCP) urges the public to be on the look out for a cat burglar who is believed to have committed six house break-ins lately in Bandar Puteri Puchong.

The male burglar usually breaks into houses from the roof, descending into them via their bathrooms, says SCP founder, Kuan Chee Heng.

“House alarms become useless in this case because he is skillful enough to avoid tripping them,” he adds.

The burglar, according to Kuan, usually acts on his own in the afternoons.

He was however captured in action on a closed-circuit camera during a break-in in January.

“We hope by publishing this pictures, the public can assist us to nab the suspect. Anyone who has seen him, or who sees anybody behaving suspiciously in their neighbourhood, please call me at 012 2732148 or contact the nearest police station,” he says.

Kuan also advises the public to photocopy all important documents and have them certified so it will be easier to replace them if they go missing.

“House break-ins are on the rise. Please also keep your valuables in secure places and not in drawers. Put them where a thief will not be able to find them,” he says.

Serdang OCPD, Supt Abdul Razak Elias, informs Komunitikini that the police are investigating the suspect.

“We need the co-operation of the public, who can inform us if they spot the suspect,” he says.
