A Form Three student at Simpang Empat near here was assaulted by three schoolmates, two of them from his class.
Fifteen-year-old Muhamad Shahfaly Anoar, a class monitor, sustained a fractured arm, a twisted shoulder and cuts on his left cheek in the attack last Friday.
Muhamad Shahfaly said today that his attackers were angry with him for reporting them to a teacher for misconduct.

He said he was sitting in a classroom at 11am when a student pulled him outside and led him to 10 others waiting on the ground floor of the school.
However, he said only three of them actually hit him.

“I could not do anything but endure the pain. A friend later helped me back to the classroom,” he said at his home in Kampung Simpang Empat Syed Kassim  near here.

His father, Anoar Ahmad, 38, said he was shocked to see his son’s condition when he fetched him from school at noon.

Upon being told of what happened, he informed the school and lodged a report at the Simpang Empat Police Station at 7.30pm the same day.
“I sent my son to the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital. They found that his left arm was fractured,” he said.
He added that this was the second time Muhamad Shahfaly was assaulted by schoolmates, but he was not seriously injured the first time.
“I am disappointed with the school’s administration. I feel that the teachers should take responsibility over what happened,” he said, adding that he is considering enrolling his son in another school.

Kangar police chief Supt Abdul Rahman Noordin said that four suspects have been remanded to facilitate investigations.
