In conjunction with its 40th anniversary, Hard Rock International is giving local bands the chance to win a spot on the lineup at the Hard Rock Calling 2011 at London’s Hyde Park, which is one of the world’s most anticipated music festivals.
Through the Hard Rock Battle of the Bands, the best local bands bands will compete live and be evaluated by a panel of local celebrity judges and area music professionals at the Hard Rock Penang.
Qualifying rounds will be held on 20 and 27 February 2011 and the Finals on 6 March 2011.
The winner of Hard Rock Cafe Penang’s Battle of the Bands will be placed in one of four world regional categories, which will be narrowed down by a panel of acclaimed industry experts. Names of bands which make it to the final phase will be posted on www.hardrock.com, where fans worldwide will vote on their favorites from each region.
All four regional winners will be flown to London and given a spot on the bill at Hard Rock Calling 2011, which will take place from June 24 to June 26 in London’s Hyde Park. The band that receives the most fan votes will open for one of the festival’s iconic headliners on the Main Stage at Hard Rock Calling 2011, with the runners-up rockin’ out on the Second Stage.
To be considered, bands must play original music, must be at least 18 years of age and must have 2 to 5 members. Visit www.hardrock.com/battleofbands for entry forms and a reading of the official rules.
Official entry forms must be submitted with two original songs written and solely performed by your band in an Audio CD or MP3 format to Hard Rock Cafe Penang by 11 February 2011.
