WANGSA MAJU – The residents of Wangsa Maju can now look forward for a Chinese primary school after the ground breaking ceremony yesterday.

The residents of Wangsa Maju and surrounding areas can now look forward for definite plan for a Chinese primary school after the ground breaking ceremony yesterday

In October 2011, the school building layout plan was approved by the Ministry of Education on the 2-acres land located at Jalan Genting Kelang. The land valued at RM20 million was donated by a developer.

MCA President Dr Chua Soi Lek said, “In the past 2 years, we had 2 major changes in the Chinese medium schools, the first is that the government had injected RM90 million for the relocation of 13 schools, 7 new schools and renovated 8 schools. The second change is that the Chinese medium schools have the privilege in having a board of directors to take charge of monies contributed by the Government. In the case of SJK(C) Wangsa Maju, RM 6 million had been reassured to be channeled directly into the Board’s account.

Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai and the Chairman of SJK (C) Wangsa Maju Board of Directors, Yew Teong Look, attended the ground breaking ceremony.

The construction cost for the school is estimated to be RM15 million.
