Motorcross bikers appeals to Selangor Government

Members of the Kelab Motor Lasak (Motorcross) Selayang gathered at the dirtbike track on 23rd Jan 2011 (adjacent to the Hutan Lipur Sg Tua along the Batu Cave Hulu Yam Highway) to appeal to the Selangor State Government to reserve the track for motorcross sports.

This group of dirt bike enthusiasts , have at their own time and expenses set up the dirtbike track to pursue their sporting interests. They had applied to the Majlis Perbandaran Selayang for use of the land back in 2004, but have not heard from the Majlis since then.

Recently, they discovered that their beloved track is going to be taken over by an operator, who has plans to turn it into a parking area.

The track is just adjacent to the Hutan Lipur Sq Tua, a Selangor State Park which already have ample car parks for visitors to the Park

According to En Hasrin, the Information Head of the Kelab, the is track is an example of the rakyat’s ingenuity and perseverance in pursuing a healthy sporting activity and appealed to the State Government to continue to allow them to use the dirtbike track.

He said that the Kelab Motor Lasak Selayang, has produced bikers who have represented Malaysia in international motorcross events and have contributed much to the development of motorcross sports in Malaysia. The track is also opened to the public.
