Some 200 senior citizens and their families attended the 2012 Chinese New Year celebration dinner at Pusat Khidmat Sosial Setempat, Taman Kerjasama, Bukit Beruang on Saturday.
The dinner which was organised by Persatuan Warga Emas Hang Tuah Jaya and DUN Air Keroh provided an avenue for the senior citizens to get to each other and forward their problems to the association and Air Keroh DUN office.
Air Keroh state assembyperson, Koh Nai Kwong were supposed to officiate the event but due to unseen circumstances Hang Tuah Jaya council member, Yong Fun Juan stepped in to officiate the event.
The annual event saw a lot of senior citizens walking away with hampers and prizes from the lucky draw organised by the association.
Even though Koh did not attend the event but he made a donation worth RM2,000 to the association.
