Franchise license issued to 45 companies

Forty-five companies received franchise licence from the Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry yesterday.

Forty-five companies received franchise licence from the Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry yesterday.

Among them were Ayam Penyet API Sdn Bhd, Masterskill (M) Sdn Bhd, KK Home Deco Sdn Bhd dan Vitality Boost Sdn Bhd (Boost Juice Bars).

Ministry Secretary-General Saripuddin Kasin said the ministry approved applications from the 45 entities under Franchise Act 1998.

He said of the 45 company, 31 were registered as local franchisors and holders of foreign master franchisees while the rest were franchisees to foreign franchisors.

Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob presented the franchise licence to the recipients here.

At the ceremony, Saripuddin said the ministry would like to encourage companies to expand their business through the franchise system.

“This would hopefully open the mind of potential entrepreneurs to venture into the franchise business,” he said.
